1. Understand client’s environment and objectives
One of our coaches interview and thoroughly listen to the individual, team, or company representatives to determine values, goals, opportunities, strengths, issues, and challenges. Coach meets with coachee’s supervisor for their perspective on development goals.
2. Gain commitment and buy in
The coach then guides the client through the process of defining their desired outcome and provides new perspective on the issues.
3. Utilize assessments and tools
Next, the coach uses formal or informal assessments to confirm needs and gaps.
4. Create action plan for coaching engagement
An action plan is created with specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-based goals.
5. Build on top strengths
The coach taps into the client’s motivations and includes customized exercises or assignments designed to transfer to their workplace.
6. Work the plan
Here, the coach and client continue working together as often as necessary. Progress is discussed and the client is held accountable.
7. Facilitate check- ins with the supervisor and talent management for alignment
These meetings help us stay on track, provide input and improve three-way communication.
Finally, successes are highlighted and practice is encouraged to promote repetition and sustainability.
